Albany Police Benevolent Association Scholarship

The Albany Police Benevolent Association is accepting applications for the next academic year. Applications will be accepted from graduating seniors of Greater Albany Public Schools (or qualified Albany home study) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Recipients will receive a $1,000 one-time award sent directly to their chosen accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university program.

Application Form Due April 3, 2026

 

Application must include:

  1. Completed application and relevant signatures,
  2. Two letters of recommendation from non-relatives, and
  3. A 500-word essay on the subject, "How has public safety positively impacted your life and community?" Your name, high school/home program, and current date must be in the upper left-hand corner. Include as much information as possible about your career goals and how you intend to reach them.

The Albany Police Department employs 66 sworn officers and 35 civilian staff who carry on a rich tradition of professional public safety service.

Community partnerships are integral to our success in maintaining the public safety in Albany.
